I bought this product after researching it a bit and it seemed like a reasonably stable product for a mid-level price. I installed the CD as prescribeed only to find the connection dropped a few times a day and was very difficlut to get it to reconnect, sometimes taking up to an hour. So after many hours more research, I removed the drivers on the CD (these were the most up to date of Linksys website as well) and let it use windows 7 drivers. It now seems stable, only disconnects maybe once a day and reconnects fairly quickly thereafter so a vast improvement. Some better windows 7 drivers are in much need for this device but I can’t complain too much now that it is fairly stable.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What’s this?)

If for some reason you own a desktop or laptop without a wireless adapter built in (which I would imagine would be at least a couple of years old by now) you need to get one of these.
Very quick and easy to set up and use, and worked without a glitch so far, good reception too, even in the basement.

Plug and play enabled and tested in older laptops, around the house, even tried it on an old tower system running XP, and the provided install CD made it simple.
    Plenty of encryption
Offers optimal performance with Wireless-N networks, but works with Wireless-G and -B networks as well.

    Didn’t work well on Win 7 64 bit, 14 Feb 2011

I bought this device as it was listed as compatible with Win 7 64 bit on Microsfosts website.

I completely uninstalled my previous adapter, downloaded the latest Win 7 64 bit drivers but sadly this device did not work properly for me.

It would connect and stay connected, but the data stream would peak and trough on a minute by minute basis.
During the trough, so little data came through that browsers reported the page not fund etc.

Perhaps with enough tweaking it would have worked – I put in several hours and am very IT literate – more than a reasonable attempt to get it working I think.
